Purpose
• As Department Head, provide the overall leadership for the category Basketball, be responsible for portfolio management, servicing, strategic planning and GTM/Marketing activation. Specifically, be in charge of the strategic and business direction for the NBA partnership.
Key Accountabilities
• Strategic Planning: In conjunction with all business stakeholders, elaborate a plan for basketball in terms of portfolio supported by a clear business plan supported by the BU
• Portfolio Management: Build and strengthen the portfolio by organizing the appropriate scouting and signing efforts but also the necessary exits
• Servicing: Ensure world class servicing for all our partners at all times (including NBA)
• GTM/Marketing Activation: Develop mid and long-term marketing plans for all key symbols supporting the Brand image, the various businesses and all GTM activities
• Team & Budget Management: Lead the direct sports marketing team, inspire the ‘indirect’ team in the 17 markets and manage the various budgets (MWB, T&E).
• NBA partnership management: Be the adidas interface of the NBA, responsible for the strategy, contractual parameters, business plan, marketing mix and reporting

• Broad & deep knowledge in own functional area, combining with broad knowledge of other areas of the business
• Proven business acumen
• Manage and Develop People - ensure organizational efficiency through effective motivation, training and development of the internal team
• Provide a Framework for Performance - set personal objectives, targets, guidelines and assess all direct reports and steer the performance management process for all direct reports
• Foster and build strong relationships and team spirit across sports marketing teams in the 17 key markets
• Be the respected face of adidas Basketball in the respective sports industries & networks
• Good understanding of brand building and consumer perspective
• Strong influencer and natural collaborator
• Holistic thinker – an establish and drive end-to-end strategies and initiatives encompassing multiple functions
• Manage the Business (processes, budgets, & projects)
• Experience in working in a global retail structure - Ideally experience on both global and market levels
• Strong presentation, planning and analytical skills
• Advanced IT Skills
Qualifications
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field
2. A minimum of 8 years of experience working in sports marketing, marketing, or sporting goods industry
3. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree
4. Experience in working for a global player in consumer goods
5. Experience in working within a matrix and market structure
