Role Overview
The Planner will be responsible for managing the merchandise inventory positions at the store level to drive department sales, inventory, profile and turnover objectives. They will provide pre-season financial projections and strategies and identify risks and opportunities to maximize profits. Responsible for driving and/or contribute to projects resulting in improved departmental systems and efficiencies.
Responsibilities
• Own sales and stock by door and make recommendations at department/class level to maximize sales
• Partner with store management to identify risks and opportunities to maximize profits
• Develop, consolidate and communicate a comprehensive pre-season planning strategy that identifies opportunities and risks at the store level
• Manage creation of the Assortment and Buy Plans and recommend resulting scenarios to the Buying office (i.e. number of styles and number of unites per style)
• Analyze key item trends, and seasonality adjusting forecasts, markups, receipts and inventory levels as needed to drive business
• Maintain positive relationships with Vendor Community
• Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications
• 3 + yrs. in Buying, Planning or Allocation capacity
• Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills
• Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
• Ability to prioritize and muti-task
• Advanced computer skills in Excel
• Strong financial acumen
• Ideal candidate will have Jewelry/Watches experience, but not a must have
