The Nike, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. Description
The Women's Communications Director will help lead Nike's communications efforts in creating experiences, destinations and storytelling that help Nike reach new audiences, expand brand perception and grow the Women's Business. In addition to driving the Nike Women category's communications strategy, the role will help lead, redefine, cultivate and develop expressions of sport and style for our female consumer that permeate culture in new and inventive. The output of this work should ignite purposeful conversations around Nike's most powerful stories for her and help foster and build creative networks.
A successful candidate must have a passion for sport, an ability to deliver new ways of thinking, and a desire to deepen and evolve Nike's relationship with media and consumers. The individual should also be proactive, creative, and capable of thinking through problems and presenting solutions. Being culturally curious, sport obsessed, having an eye for design and trend, and an appreciation for art and understanding of popular culture is a must. This person will also be responsible for driving a forward-looking approach to our communications strategies to leverage the ever-changing media and highly-engaged consumer landscape.
As a key member of Nike's Communications Team, the individual will work closely with Communications peers across all Nike categories, and as part of Nike's integrated Marketing, offence. The individual will also contribute to global and regional media strategies when necessary, as well as support, media train and staff Nike spokespeople (designers, athletes, etc.) when appropriate.

Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, or related discipline
• 10+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting global brand organizations
• Extensive knowledge of international media landscape and thorough knowledge of the needs of different media and communication tools for digital, print and broadcast
• Management skills including strategic planning, budgeting, creative solutions and agency management
• Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis
• Proven cultural acuity and ability to work within differing cultural practices and customs
• Experience initiating and driving the ideation process to contribute meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage
• High aptitude for creative thinking balanced against bottom line business needs.
• Successful experience working effectively at a senior level in brand management and a proven ability to provide guidance and direction to peers
Preferred:
• Experience as a company/agency spokesperson
• Strong English written and spoken required; knowledge of second and/or third language
• Professional work experience in the United States and at least one other country strongly
