Responsibilities
As a Color Design Director in Nike Basketball, you will be tasked with elevating the Nike product experience with a focus on both the art & science of Color. This will require driving color excellence through the connection of design and storytelling.
The Color Design Director leads a team of color designers and is tasked with creating the long-term design vision and strategies for the Jordan business specific to color. This requires that a designer is a trend and color expert and is capable of color merchandising and strategy. In addition, the Color Design Director builds awareness of current color trends through fashion, art, design and basketball -relevant consumer product. Using an industry-informed perspective, the Nike Basketball Design Director provides a forecast of color needs for global palette building and leads in-depth research into consumer trends, insights, and competitors.
Qualifications
·BA in Design and 8+ years of relevant Design and leadership
experience
·Experience managing other designers and leading strategic
design direction
·Demonstrates leadership that influences process change
·Leads in depth research on consumer trends,
insights, competitors, for a focused market segment/category
·Ability to travel
·Stays abreast of industry and technology development within the
product design profession
·Continuously advances product, process, and design
skills reflective of an expert design professional
