JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Production Manager actively participates as a member of a Global Production Team, which is responsible for the product development, financial profitability, and responsive strategy execution for a single or multiple departments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assists in alignment between Merchants, Design, and R&D to understand product strategies to ensure sourcing strategies are in place to support
• Provide GIS with clarity on any product strategy shifts to prepare sourcing channels to support
• Partner with Design and R&D to identify areas of concern and potential sourcing solves
• Collect and clearly communicate all product costing & drive for costing options to hit costing targets
• Assists in costing roll process, helping to identify any costing concerns & present to cross-functional team
• Drives for alignment on RSC strategies & executes all RSC related activities (pre-season and in-season)
• Assist in communication of lead times and early books to cross functional teams & execute early bookings
• Drives BOM details meetings in partnership with Design
• Supports the execution of final BOMs in PLM & communicates to GIS
• Attends critical fitting to offer guidance with respect to costing and lead times
• Ensures that supporting systems (FM, PLM, TS) are complete and accurate by the agreed deadlines
• Manage and track Photo-samples and Adoption samples to ensure timely delivery
• Help to investigate all product issues and identify potential solutions
• Track and report all open issues with cross-functional team during weekly team meetings
• Drives to hit all pipeline deadlines on-time
KEY EXPERIENCES
• 4 Year Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 1 Year General work experience
• Understand the principles of apparel manufacturing, apparel costing and retail math
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, web-based applications
• Able to work as a member of a team
• Effectively communicate in written and verbal form
• Detail oriented with strong follow through
• Have a sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving skills
• Ability to react to change
• Solicit feedback/self-development
• Make effective presentations
