POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Digital Analytics & Optimization team serves as the primary source for digital insights and testing. The team’s objectives are to explain business performance, identify customer behaviors and translate into insights and test hypothesis across all digital platforms. Additionally the team serves as a resource for cross-functional teams (KT, e-commerce, Marketing, Finance, and more) on all the above subject areas.
As part of the Digital Testing Strategy & Insights Team, this analyst will have multiple responsibilities including working on test requests from other teams, creation of new test hypotheses, improving digital reporting, deep diving into customer behavior analytics, measuring A/B test results and providing business recommendations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analytics Strategy & Innovation
• Support the digital testing & analytics roadmap and help ensure cross-functional alignment on strategic business initiatives.
• Identify test opportunities, develop strategy and lead test design.
• Translate A/B test data & results into actionable insights and business recommendations.
• Drive optimization of digital properties through identification of successful tests and go-forward strategy with ‘winning experiences’.
• Together with the rest of the team, lead process definition - set & align direction, identify business goals, define timelines and take part in potential business case development.
Analytics Insights & Activation
• Work on identification of key business questions, develop hypotheses, plan A/B test strategy, execute and measure results.
• Leverage analytics, promotion & advertising strategy, LY business results and competitive insights to explain business performance to cross-functional leaders and provide recommendations from A/B test results
• Identify customer behaviors and insights that can be leveraged for future targeting & personalization and to inform business decisions.
• Become an advocate for testing & optimization across the organization.
• Become a subject matter expert in digital analytics, testing & optimization.
• Conduct regular competitive research to gather additional test ideas.
Support & Training
• Co-manage the test request database and pro-actively respond to requests.
• Attend meetings with business partners to discuss potential ideas and follow ups to analysis.
• Participate in open lab forum to help answer digital analytics & testing questions from cross-functional partners.
• Support ongoing digital analytics associate training and development.
• Monitor and report on industry best practices, adapting key learnings to Kohls.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent analytical skills: ability to effectively break business questions into their key components, identify appropriate data sources and methodology for analysis to translate findings into actionable insights.
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team on multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of an organization through methods including public speaking, written analysis and data storytelling
• Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to prioritize effectively, manage time well and balance short & long term goals.
• 3+ years in a high-volume retail environment.
• 3+ experience using web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics (Omniture) or Google Analytics and testing/optimization tools like Adobe Target, Optimizely or Maxymiser is a bonus.
• Knowledge of languages and programs like SQL, Python, R Statistics preferred.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau preferred.
