Regional Visual Merchandising Director

Major Responsibilities:

Under direction from the Divisional Vice President, Projects, the Regional Visual Merchandising Director is responsible for ensuring the implementation and execution of all visual merchandising creative direction and capital projects at a store level for a regional group of stores. The Regional Visual Merchandising Director is responsible for directing store teams and ensuring the consistent implementation of all Visual Merchandising initiatives and standards.
Role responsibilities include:
1. Provides leadership and direction to regional group of stores to ensure implementation of all Visual Merchandising initiatives and Everyday Standards.
2. Develops strong relationships with regional partners in Operations, Stores Executives and Visual COE to create an inviting and dynamic shopping environment. Leverages partnerships to drive results and solutions to problems as they arise.
3. Oversees development of visual associates. Identifies talent, assesses abilities, communicates expectations, implements training for new stores as well as existing stores, measures execution, provides feedback. Also responsible for education of store teams on standards and presentation
4. Ensures consistent execution by store within region. Leverages multiple communication vehicles (conference calls, coaching conversations) to ensure that store teams understand visual direction to ensure execution is seamless and timely.
5. Accountable for timely new store openings and renovations within their region: reviewing orders, partnership on the hiring visual associates, store training of visual standards, completion of opening on budget.
6. Conducts daily store visits seasonally within region to ensure stores are in compliance with standards.
7. Acts as liaisons between the corporate office and the store teams in the region to develop effective visual strategies and come up with solutions to problems within region as they arise.
Qualifications
Personal Characteristics:
The successful candidate should be able to multi-task and meet deadlines. He/she must be a problem-solver and should be comfortable working in an ever changing environment. He/she must be able to create great relationships with all levels of associates and will be very creative in their thinking and visualizing display assortments.
Professional Qualifications:
• Minimum 5- 10 years Visual Merchandising experience Demonstrated advanced visual merchandising knowledge and understanding how visual merchandising supports the customer experience.
• Leadership: ability to identify, develop and coach others
• Strong merchandising skills
• Business Acumen: understanding of how effective visual strategies and standards drive the overall customer experience
• Ability to create strong relationships with key corporate and stores partners
• Problem Solving- ability to be solution focused and collaborative in driving solutions
• Exhibit sound business judgment, demonstrated people management, and organizational ability
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Educational Credentials:
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion (would be considered an asset)
Travel Requirements:
• 75%
