Job Duties, Responsibilities and Requirements
• Develop seasonal go-to-market concepts that elevate the brand’s big idea approach, unite product and marketing behind consumer and cultural insights
• Ensure that the new creative vision is brought to life by executing brand creative and delivering assets in high quality and on time and on budget.
• Develop, motivate, and mentor an in-house staff of a design director, product designers, graphic designers, filmers/editors, and web/interactive designers, while also managing multiple outside creative resources.
• Set expectations and standards (build a culture) for creative team attitude, behavior, teamwork and professional development. Lead accordingly.
• Contribute to the seasonal strategic planning “go to market” process to ensure a consistent and inspiring taste-level from the inspiration of a season all the way through launch
Education & Experience
Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 10 + years in the creative field, 3+ years’ experience in creative management
• Experience in leading creative direction of projects, firm understanding of consumer insights, brand-design, and multi-platform storytelling (film, photo, digital, environmental, and experiential)
• Experience in and enthusiasm not just for design and creative, but leading a creative organization
• Excellent portfolio and highly developed design skills.
Functional Competencies:
• Excellent creative presentation skills with the ability to articulate and sell concepts to senior management by discussing how those concepts meet the brand’s strategic objectives.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of brand and product strategy.
• Must be open-minded, flexible, patient, and cooperative with a unique blend of strategic creativity and corporate understanding.
• Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and interaction with all levels of management.
• Ability to execute critical thinking and problem solving.
• Ability to effectively coach, develop, and manage a team of product and marketing design professionals.
• Global business knowledge with cross cultural agility.
• Must possess thorough familiarity with Mac OS X and the latest Adobe Creative Suite software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat Pro; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; knowledge of workflow software and project management tools; knowledge of video production/films, digital marketing, mobile and social media
