Celebrating our legacy of modern fashion, creativity, individuality, and intrigue by providing every guest with an unparalleled customer experience. We are currently seeking a Men's Group Manager at our Flagship Location in Beverly Hills, CA.
The Group Manager is directly responsible for customer service, sales performance, floor merchandise presentation and physical inventory results for various Teams. The Department Managers within the area of responsibility report to the Group Manager who ensures that their job functions are executed.
Responsibilities:
• Attains sales and profitability goals for the store through effective and strategic planning in regard to sales achievement, expense control and management, inventory control and management, and merchandise planning and assortment.
• Achieves company financial goals.
• Analyzes sales performance and strategies to maximize opportunity and improve overall performance.
• Partners with Corporate Marketing and Publicity to discuss strategies to increase brand awareness and conversion.
• Directs and personally demonstrates the priority of customer acknowledgement and service over all other tasks.
• Reviews and revises selling floor coverage when needed to ensure maximum selling floor coverage and sales opportunities.
• Reviews CPS capture rate report on a monthly basis and implements an action plan for improvement.
• Understands the importance of and seeks to improve accuracy of information entered and updated in the CPS system.
• Ensures the usage of the CPS system for client development.
• Ensures that associates attempt to open Barneys New York credit card accounts when another form of payment is presented. Understands and communicates the benefits of having a proprietary account.
• Proactively retains and develops top customers, potential top customers, and new customers using the using BNY Clientele System.
• Ensures that monthly PEP (Productivity Enhancement Program) meetings are taking place with all associates.
• Leads and participates in the effort to develop, implement, and follow through on a business plan for the top fifty customers within each department.
• Builds a personal relationship with customers in the store to increase sales penetration and traffic.
• Ensures that all departments achieve an overall Mystery Shopping score of 90%.
• Ensures that returns are handled positively and in a manner consistent with company philosophy.
• Coaches others to pro-actively avoid customer challenges. Ensures that raised issues are seen through to completion and are handled promptly and professionally. Reinforces the importance of fulfilling promises and adhering to company policies.
• Is actively involved in recruiting and selecting new employees.
• Works intensively with new employees to ensure their understanding of the Barneys New York culture and standards.
• Ensures that staff members are well informed and have current information.
• Holds regular group meetings with a prepared agenda, and topics and encourages employee participation.
• Trains, coaches, and challenges managers to help them achieve their fullest potential.
• Is aware of each manager’s strengths and development opportunities. Utilizes this knowledge effectively.
• Provides all necessary feedback in a timely manner, including Annual Performance Appraisals.
• Establishes specific and action-oriented goals for managers. Follows up on progress towards goal attainment.
• Sales & Merchandise Management: Working with Department Managers
• Utilizes all available resources to develop an intimate knowledge of store merchandise in own and other areas. Imparts this knowledge to others.
• Maintains and seeks to expand personal and staff knowledge of fashion trends and industry information.
• Understands and maintains company merchandising philosophy and standards.
• Analyzes sales performance and strategies to maximize opportunities and improve overall performance.
• Serves as an effective and creative participant in coordinating and executing special events.
• Consistently communicates with Corporate Store Operations and Buying Office regarding merchandise needs.
• Verifies that price changes, transfers, etc. are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensures that selling areas, including fitting rooms and non-selling areas are well managed, taking shortage into consideration. Coverage is scheduled with regard to peak shortage days and times.
• Managers are instilled with a high level of shortage awareness and an understanding of their role in shrink reduction.
• Conducts audits regularly to ensure that loss prevention standards are maintained and monitored.
• Develops and implements initiatives to reduce loss, partnering with the appropriate store and corporate executives.
• Facilitates accurate and efficient physical inventories.
• Plans and organizes operational tasks so that they are completed in the most effective manner with minimal disruption to customer service.
• Ensures that selling and reserve areas are maintained according to storekeeping standards and have adequate level of supplies.
• Manages and monitors payroll expense.
• Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and contributes to achieving store and company expense initiatives.
• Ensures that proper taxes as well as alterations and send fees are charged.
Qualifications:
• Detail oriented with excellent written, oral, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Great time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Computer proficient.
• 5-7 years of management experience in an upscale retailer or specialty store.
• BA preferred.
