Position Overview:
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for accounting, reporting, and related analysis. The Accounting Manager will provide leadership and accounting support for retail, ecommerce and wholesale divisions and will work closely with the senior finance team to report results and provide management reporting. This role supports the execution and reporting to internal parties and works closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller to support a growing multi-national company. This position is very hands-on and requires a detail oriented individual who also possesses the ability to understand business issues and provide analytical insight to support decision making, as well as supervise the general ledger function.
The Accounting Manager will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise general ledger staff members including functional responsibility over revenue reporting, reserves and allowances, operating expense, debt and related interest expense, fixed assets and related depreciation and other areas of accounting as needed. The Accounting Manager will ensure that systems and procedures are in place to support efficiency as well as establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls and develop automated efficient processes where appropriate.

1. 30% Oversee all general ledger accounting and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. 20% Consistently prepare and analyze accounting transactions and period end results and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
3. 20% Prepare and review results of operations including variance to budget and prior year and provide variance reporting as appropriate.
4. 10% Maintain internal control and safeguards for recognition of revenue and related reserves and other expenditures.
5. 10% Provide support for annual and quarterly audits.
6. 10% Assist leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process and special projects as they arise.
Key Stakeholders
The Accounting Manager will work closely with other members of the finance team to assist with budgeting and other analysis and will also liaise with external auditors as part of the annual audit process. The candidate will partner with the Controller, managers, and the human resources (HR) and information technology (IT) staff to enhance and better integrate finance, HR, and IT functions. This manager will also provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment.
Required Skills
• This is an opportunity for a leader with a minimum 7 years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to managers and auditors.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or related field; CPA, and/or MBA preferred.
• Experience supporting audit activities and reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
• Experience in an automated software environment with intermediate knowledge of enterprise accounting and reporting software required.
• The candidate will ideally have experience in the apparel or related industry.
