Director, Production Design - MAC
Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Work directly with the M·A·C’s global Creative and Visual Merchandising teams to collaborate on creative production strategy and design execution for all global M·A·C in-store lightboxes, collateral, special events, as well as supporting collateral for our partner retail stores to ensure M·A·C’s campaign creative is translated and executed cohesively.
• Execute and adapt our global lightbox designs to fit local market needs for all regions.
• Execute design collateral for store openings and closings, temporary store openings, partner store materials, press releases, seasonal and regional Powerpoint/Keynote presentations.
• Execute and maintain print production guidelines to share with outside production vendors and regional executional teams.
• Provide mechanicals for beauty crops and graphics for all setups.
• Oversee mechanical production of all print assets and collateral, ensuring final, executed deliverables meet both design and production requirements.
• Work closely with Creative Operations to program artwork on schedule.
• Oversee CGI vendor on our product skus to ensure color accuracy and organize delivery of assets.
• Update and maintain our work and product archives regularly.
• Provide technical and implementation expertise to the design, production and creative operations teams.
• Trouble-shoot color separation and pre-press issues related to print.
• Supervise outside production agencies and regional executional teams to keep projects on time and on budget.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• BA in Graphic Design/Digital Imaging/Print Production or related field
• 8+ years of experience in digital art production at a global retail brand, a creative agency, design firm, or freelance is required
• Demonstrated experience working for a global brand, translating creative and working directly with regional offices a plus.
• Strong Mac computer skills a must with a superior knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Powerpoint, Keynote, Adobe Acrobat, Stuff-It, Flightcheck as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• Must be extremely detail oriented and highly organized, yet an agile thinker
• Must have exceptional typography and layout skills as well as a familiarity with print ads, specifications and mechanical template building software.
• Strong communication and experience managing a small team is required
