Specific Responsibilities
The Production Coordinator assists the Production Manager in the placement, execution, and follow-up of manufacturing orders by ensuring the timely delivery of quality, profitable goods.
Strategy & Innovation
• The Production Coordinator role requires the ideal candidate to coordinate all aspects of International Production, from placing orders to final shipment.
Operations and Results
• Maintain a library of compliance regulations for each country
• Ensure export garments are compliant with all government regulations
• Works with technical design to coordinate fir process and ensure specs meet country requirements
• Submit testing samples for country-compliant testing and follow
• Responsible for tracking, management and organization of Testing and Production samples
• Assist Production Manager in resolving all shipment issues by liasing with overseas offices and individual factories
• Coordinate the ordering and delivery of trims with factories and nominated suppliers
• Assist Production Manager by entering and maintaining costing records for separate specs, trims, and testing
• Monitor Production Status by performing daily tracking of goods on order, work in progress (WIP), and in-transit to ensure timely delivery
• Follow up on QC inspections, adhere to and enforce production standards set by the company
• Monitor and update order information in SNC system
• Generate and send carton labels for shipment
• Coordinate with factories and internal contacts to ensure billing process is timely and accurate
Customers & Relationships
• Coordinate interoffice communication and follow-up with internal and external customers and contacts regarding production, including suppliers and vendors
• Perform special projects as assigned
• Travel to factories and international trade shows, where appropriate
Leadership & Teams
• Contribute positively to team dynamic and manage up where necessary
• Attract, develop and retain talent
• Monitor and evaluate performance of individuals
Skills and Requirements
• 3 - 5 years experience in apparel production and sourcing
• Bachelor’s degree
• Highly organized with experience shipping to China, Korea, Japan, and other countries a plus.
• Ability to negotiate and resolve problems with factories, nominated suppliers, and logistics partners
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous.
• Creativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising/design.
• Knowledge of garment manufacturing, including construction, fabrication, trim and print techniques.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and Mac computers
