Born out of Smashbox Studios in Los Angeles—the modern-day image factory where countless iconic celebrity and fashion images have been shot—we are a fast-growing, prestige cosmetics brand with domestic and international presence. Staying true to our L.A. studio roots, we are creative and trendsetting, yet laidback and accessible. We are currently seeking an Executive Director, Global Visual Merchandising to join our exceptional team in Culver City, CA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drive the timely development of high quality, innovative displays and store design elements for the Smashbox brand, based on customer requirements, manufacturability, and Marketing objectives. Role requires a full understanding of manufacturing techniques and capabilities as well as a sense of design and understanding of customers’ needs and retailers’ specificities. The essential duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
•Strategize with Senior management on brand equity and evolution of visual merchandising and store design
•Work cohesively with 2D Design and Packaging Design to ensure unified brand voice in all design elements
•Liase with PADC and EMEA offices to ensure global guidelines are met in Asia and EMEA markets
•Lead global team of 3 to implement all aspects of Visual Merchandising including day to day merchandising business, product launches, product launch outposts, and store design
•Oversee the creation and timely distribution of Brand Merchandising guidelines, seasonal guidelines and planograms
•Oversee the visual merchandising annual budget and capital budget for North America
•Partner with Creative VP on the design and implementation of store design elements globally
•Work cohesively with Creative Ops to set and meet deadlines
•Partner with PR on press events
•Partner with Marketing and Senior Management on showroom events and retailer meetings
•Coordinate with the other regions, provide information, look for economies of scale via global production and create synergies within the regions
•Keep informed through colleagues, vendors, professional exhibitions and seminars of new materials
Qualifications
•10+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising
•Excellent Leadership and Communication skills
•Ability to manage a growing brand
•Superior organizational skills and sensitivity to details
•Thorough knowledge of the channels of distribution globally and relevant merchandising systems/needs
•Strong strategic and management skills
•Ability to work in a fast paced environment
•Ability to contribute and add value individually as well as create a great working relationships with cross-functional teams in the brands
•Capacity to convey new ideas, persuade and implement
•Good working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and 3D drawing program
