When you join LPK as a Print & Pattern Intern, we expect you to have an uncompromising work ethic, a passion for prints and patterns and the ability to translate trends in fashion, graphic beauty, interiors and print and pattern for the graphic medium. We will give you the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences and a new set of tools, providing you with skills in strategic design, technical illustration, print and pattern development and presentation abilities. A Peek Inside the Life of a Print & Pattern Intern:
Each day brings something new and different, so expect to work on multiple projects at the same time. On a daily basis you will be gathering inspiration from a variety of sources and creating designs that fit the specific project objective. We take commodity goods and make them amazing by adding print, pattern and details. You’ll attend and participate in internal reviews, presenting your designs and offering a fresh perspective, which is highly valued.
Expectations
• Follow the guidance and insights of your design team.
• Proactively seek coaching and training opportunities from guides and team members.
• Be responsive to feedback and push work forward based on that direction.
• Hit deadlines and manage your time wisely.
• Roll with the punches. Sometimes the project changes, so our work has to change, too.
• Gain exposure to and participate in the LPK culture, but don’t fade into the woodwork. We want outstanding performers and personalities.
• Bring a point of view, stay curious and ask questions.
Pre-Reqs
• Working toward a degree in Design (Fashion, Graphic, Industrial)
• Excellent skills and passion for Adobe Illustrator
• Print and pattern development knowledge is a plus
• Love of fashion design is desired
• Ability to work on a Mac
• Fluency in English
