POSITION TITLE:
Global Social Media Director - Kiehl's
DEPARTMENT: Communications and Social Media
REPORT TO: Global Assistant Vice President Social Media
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Director Social Media supports and executes a comprehensive social media strategy across multiple platforms. The Director is responsible for being an expert on social trends & metrics, content creation for social platforms and reporting on metrics related to overall social amplification goals. Additionally the Director should have an eye toward the global marketplace, and understanding of social content that resonates worldwide (North America, APAC, EU, etc). Our goal is to drive awareness for total Kiehl’s and best representing the brand in the social space with our customers-- increasing the size and engagement of our communities, amplifying our advocate community online and driving sales to Kiehls.com and create a synergistic experience in all POS.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop standards, expertise and best practices within Social to inform and scale across all marketing and channel platforms.
Understand and report on various social metrics such as growth, engagement, conversation, amplification, and leads across owned channels worldwide to guide overall social platform strategy
Manage and create strategy and recommendations for the ongoing developing of global platforms on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Weibo, WeChat, Line and others.
Create social initiatives involving influencers, promotional strategy and cross-brand engagement to increase brand awareness
Develop a global social media calendar supporting innovations, animations, retail stores and customer acquisition goals and engagement.
Research and report on overall trends in social amongst our category and competitor set
Nurture effective agency relationships, with a focus on maximizing spend, ROI, rigorous analytics and post-campaign reporting
Develop branded content and campaign assets that worldwide markets can adapt locally to strengthen the brand awareness of Kiehl’s
Work with international and cross functional teams to edit and deliver content for each launch and special animations
Work cross-functionally with eCommerce/ Marketing team management on ways to execute overarching strategy for Social Media that will include brand building, social signals and SEO for search.
Execute fully loaded-launch campaigns including ideation, launch, monitoring, analysis, optimization and media buying with support from agency and Manager.
Responsible to manage projects on time and within budget

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
• Must have an excellent understanding and knowledge of each social media platform from a brand marketing perspective, including platform updates, paid media formats, corresponding rules/laws, changing offerings, news, analytics, and reporting tools across desktop and mobile
A passion for data, analytics, insights and trends and ability to cull through and provide actionable insights to guide overall global social media strategy across all media types including video and live content
Must have experience with industry influencer strategy
Must have experience in brand communication strategy on social media
Must have experience with community management across social platforms
Must have experience working cross-functionally and with agencies to develop campaigns and content that engage and create increased interest in the brand
Must have knowledge and understanding of social listening
A passion for creating content that engages with customers and creates brand awareness
An understanding of the worldwide marketplace and cultural nuances as it relates to social media content
Develop tactics that will meet or exceed the long-term goals and short-term objectives for the worldwide Social Media and Communications team
Monitor trends via real-time reporting and identify ways the company can leverage current topics of interest, know ecosystem and demonstrate curiosity and customer centricity
