Urban Decay is seeking a Vice President of Visual Merchandising to join our team in Newport Beach, CA.
POSTION PURPOSE
The role of the VP of Global Merchandising is to oversee the inception process and creative vision on all global merchandising projects ensuring they support the company strategic business initiative and vision. This position will work closely with the Sales and Marketing departments, Urban Decay’s retail partners and oversee the Visual Merchandising and Store Design team. This role will direct the layout and production of all visual merchandising updates and POS across multiple markets, as well as plan and successful execute all store design domestic and internationally.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Direct the creative vision of all Global Merchandising project’s across the entire organization and with our retail partners
Plan and work to meet each fiscal merchandising budget in collaboration with the Merchandising Analyst
Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes and quickly adapts to change in priorities; must be able to follow projects from inception to completion
Oversee the management of the fixture companies and our creative firms on all merchandising projects and the negotiation pricing
Leads design direction and inspiration to merchandising design team.
Visual and strategic direction for the companies merchandising standards and seasonal merchandising guidelines
Competitive shop and identify best practices in merchandising for Urban Decay
Monthly store visits to check the quality of all merchandising items
These job responsibilities are subject to change in accordance with business necessity

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Planogram knowledge
Excellent knowledge of Mac Platform
• Good visual awareness, creative ability and driver of innovation
Strong leadership, teamwork and project management skills, including demonstrated track record in managing projects across functional lines and channels
Flexibility to manage competing priorities and shift focus as determined by changing priorities and needs of the department or the business as a whole
Exceptional oral and written communication skills; excellent organizational and prioritization skills, keen attention to detail
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors and other employees.
Ability to work in a startup mode within a large corporate entity.
This position requires a minimal level of supervision and sound judgement. Work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines juggling multiple priorities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OR REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education/ Experience/ Licenses or Certifications
• Bachelor degree required
8+ years of prestige color cosmetics experience a plus
Minimum 7 years of experience in retail environments
SOFTWARE
• Strong computer skills
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
Basic Mac system/software
Basic MS Office Software
Standard MS Office applications
Basic PC/Mac conversion/compatibility troubleshooting
Resourceful with internet
