Retail Analytics Analyst Intern: Become the Newest Member of the VF Family
As the Retail Analytics Analyst Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to help shape VF’s analytics journey. It is an exciting time in retail analytics at VF as we work to create a more modern data landscape including data warehousing/ data lake, data science, and analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS, etc.). You will work on various projects that may range from building help videos and quick start guides for analytics tools to building dashboards and reports. Good communication (especially written) is key part of this position as the focus is on interacting with the VF community to show how analytics can be useful in their day to day.
How You Will Make a Difference
We have a wide variety of projects that we can use support in, so the projects can be tailored based on the qualifications of the candidates. The main areas that we are looking to this position to support include skills in analytics tools, training and support, communications, Tableau dashboard creation, business analysis, and project management. Your responsibilities will include:
• Creating quick start guides and help aids to assist VF associates in using analytics tools that are new to them.
• Writing website content to highlight initiatives that the retail analytics team is undertaking in order to keep executives and other associates informed about key initiatives and progress.
• Creating dashboards in Tableau to highlight inventory levels or sales performance that may need attention.
• Researching analytics tools and highlighting the features and pros/ cons of each to inform VF’s strategy for an ideal tool mix.
• Quality checking data for missingness or other errors to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Documenting data elements and data sources with information about their uses and definitions so that others can quickly learn about available data.
• Other projects related to data and analytics as assigned.
Skills for Success
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• Pursuing a Master’s/PH.d degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Administration, Communications (but with a background and interest in data and analytics), Applied Statistics, Data Visualization, Quantitative Psychology, Data Management or related field.
• Technical Skills: Experience with Tableau and SharePoint highly desired. Experience with Alteryx, SAS, and R a plus.
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• There may be a few opportunities for travel by air and overnight.
