The Assistant Product Development Manager position is responsible for working in conjunction with the Manager(s) to deliver and maintain all product development/sourcing requirements that meet the needs of the department. This role will be responsible for assisting the Managers within the department in accurate and efficient data entry, research and reporting, as well as providing support with delivery and maintenance of samples.
Responsibilities
• Create product profile names and numbers, cost sheets, specification sheets and package copy (Must be system savvy- able to navigate efficiently)
• Support manager(s) through communication with overseas offices, outside vendors domestically and internationally and internal offices to answer questions, solve problems, maintain processes and keep teams aligned on calendar
• Coordinate with cross functional teams to manage spec turnover within calendar, development status, and final handoff to production.
• Recognize and act on Pert (Program Evaluation Review Technique) date requirements
• Ability to create reports from data researched on internet, at manager’s request
• General team support: file, set up folders, distribute reports, obtain and deliver mail and samples, open packages, order samples, take notes at meetings, set up displays for meetings
• Responsible for organizing and distributing photography samples on a timely manner for all categories
• Accountable for ensuring receipt of production standardAs on a timely manner and distributing all production standards
• Execute and actively contribute to special projects designated by team members
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in fashion, marketing , planning, logistics or supply chain required
• 0-2 years of experience in a product development or sourcing environment preferably within women’s apparel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to build strong, productive relationships.
• Detail oriented, ability to work at a fast pace in a rapidly changing business environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
• Ability to balance competing priorities, complex situations and tight deadlines.
• Prior experience with a PLM or other product-related data management system
