Vans SMU Merchandising Summer Intern: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
As the Vans SMU Merchandising Summer Intern, you will engage with the Vans Special Make Up team within Apparel to develop calendars and timelines that align the team to other product go to market strategies. You’ll partner with Vans Family Members from sales, operations, and product development to create calendars and matrixes that build the future of Vans SMU relevancy and authenticity within the marketplace. You’ll use your Van Doren Spirit of being scrappy and resourceful to increase communication and create new cross functional team collaborations to grow the speed of SMU product to market. Your “Off the Wall” ability to align teams will make an impact revenue and develop the business for the future.
The Summer Internship Program goes from June 19, 2018 to August 24, 2018. All students are required to work the entire 10 weeks at 32/hours week.
How You Will Make a Difference:
• Determine how footwear and apparel SMU timelines can be in alignment.
• Conduct internal stakeholder research to improve speed to market.
• Develop a cohesive calendar that links footwear sales with SMU apparel and accessories.
• Present your findings in a formal presentation to apply what you’ve learned from your project, workshops, and networking with professionals to our Senior Leadership.
Skills for Success:
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• Years of Related Professional Experience: 0-1 year
• One previous internship experience desired.
• Currently enrolled full time or graduated within one year from an accredited education institution within Merchandising or Product Development.
• A strong participation level and/or interest in various action sports, street culture, music and/or art.
• An independent thinker and ability to contribute in an independent environment.
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• Travel by air and overnight, as required 10% amount of time.
• Lifting and/or bending 10 pounds amount of weight.
