Description
As our Nike Communications Editor you’ll help implement Nike’s global communication strategy primarily through our official news website news.nike.com and Nike’s corporate website About.Nike.com.
The communications editor for news.nike.com is responsible for managing the site’s day-to-day editorial flow and content production. The position is also accountable for maintaining freelancer billing, reporting site statistics and assistance with site SEO efforts. Ideal candidates should have a background in journalism with focus on style, sport or fitness, and experience with content management systems. Familiarity with multimedia storytelling (photography, graphics and video) is a plus.
A key member of Nike’s Communications Team, you will work with groups in different functions and markets to leverage the global communications strategy. The role requires someone with a passion for Nike's products and services and the ability to deliver new ways of thinking, and to deepen and evolve Nike's relationship with the media and consumer. This position will support global and regional media events where appropriate.
This person will also be responsible for a forward-looking approach to our communications, evolving strategies to leverage the ever-changing digital media and highly engaged consumer landscape.
• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related field
• 2 years of additional experience in lieu of degree
• 3+ years of professional experience in media, content production or related experience
• Passion for sport and knowledge of the sport landscape is a must
• Advanced writing and editing skills
• Strong project management skills
• Ability to compress and prepare images, video and other content for display on the web
• Basic knowledge of HTML and Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign is a plus
