Responsibilities
To create a unique, impactful, and immersive shopping experience encompassing the iconic kate spade new york lifestyle and brand, while driving top line results and profitability. This role is responsible for instilling brand consistency and standards across multi store market through coaching, training, and development of all store teams to ensure flawless execution. This person is also the ambassador and communicator of global brand messaging, concepts, and initiatives.
• Own the visual impact in market stores by following, interpreting, and translating corporate direction while remaining consistent with weekly, monthly, and seasonal brand direction.
• Understand the kate spade aesthetic so that appropriate substitutions and adaptations can be made to merchandise presentations, interior displays, and mannequin styling based on product ownership, business needs, and store specific architecture.
• Partner with store teams to act as a liaison of communication between corporate direction and store level execution; this includes weekly and monthly communications as needed.
• Partner with store teams to plan, oversee, and execute all product placement, fixture layouts, displays and window installations for any corporate floorset roll outs (monthly/seasonal).
• Identification and follow up of preventative store deficiencies including; broken/chipped fixtures, paint, façade damages, lighting issues etc.
• Ensure back of house organization, maintenance, and cataloguing of all visual props, mannequins, and fixtures is being maintained in all stores.
• Partner with store teams to setup and assist with any in-store events.
• Participate in corporate/field leadership visits with ability to present and discuss any visual successes and/or opportunities.
• Conduct formal visits across market using relevant tools to update all partners on state of stores.
• Partner with director of vm to participate in any corporate functions such as; market presentations, showroom setups, and seasonal floorsets as needed.
• Execute focused visual training workshops and exercises using ksny standards and training tools to educate store team members and ensure consistent execution.
• Identify opportunities and develop solutions within market that will help drive business results.
• Partner with buying and allocations teams to be knowledgeable of seasonal buys and key items for flawless planning and execution of monthly floorsets.
• Analyze inventory of key categories to suggest transfers between stores in your home market, as well as communicating any product needs in the areas of depth and assortment.
• Utilize sales reports to track, analyze, and react to business ensuring store meets or exceeds financial plan and payroll goals.
• Report into director of vm for overall visual direction and approval for all floorsets, window execution, and fixture movement.
• Partner with director of vm to hindsight any opportunities or successes of corporate initiatives.
• Cultivate strong working partnerships within the organization both field leadership and corporate office.
• Ability to recruit, interview, onboard and train any new visual talent in home market.
• Participate in various new store openings, relocations, and renovations with pre/post support.
• Partner with and mobilize district manager peer group to create cross-departmental process, feedback and synergy
Qualifications
• Strong merchandise presentation skills that can support high volume and flagship stores.
• Strong strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to deadlines.
• Detail oriented with an entrepreneurial disposition.
• High-level leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively and graciously with all levels within the organization, including strength in presentation skills.
• Comfortable and confident in making effective and autonomous decisions in a timely manner.
• Ability to manage all personal travel and entertainment budgets and calendars.
• Proficient in: Microsoft word, excel, and outlook – Adobe Creative Suites
• Flexibility to work on off peak hours including weekends and overnights.
• Able to safely lift/move 50 lbs.
• Comfortable with heights and climbing ladders.
• Able to stand and stretch for extended periods of time.
• Travel up to 75% of the time.
• Able to travel using various forms of transportation such as airplanes, trains, and buses.
• Posses a drivers license and have the ability to drive to store locations.
