The diversity of our operations has recently created an opportunity for a Quality Control Director located at our New York offices. The candidate must possess strong and inspirational leadership qualities with a proven track record of driving product quality strategies. This skill will be demonstrated in building and driving strategies to support Brooks Brothers quality goals, implementing a total quality management approach from product development to the market feedback while ensuring all compliance and safety standards are achieved. Collaboration and relationship development with our global offices in Hong Kong and Milan as well as our vendor base in identifying & leveraging best practices to achieve results will be fundamental for success in this role.
Key Accountabilities:
• Manage, mentor and lead a team to meet the current and future needs of the business.
• Ensure production quality & processes comply with the company requirement and regulations
• Manage the Quality staff in the USA and the refurbishing centers, providing guidance, technical advice and solutions to resolve quality issues
• Cultivating positive relationships and collaboration with Quality teams abroad, Internal Markets and suppliers
• Ensure vendor/factories working under continuous improvement and utilizing tools to identify defect trends, applying root cause, application of root cause and preventative action
• Collect, verify and validate the quality callouts from Store Operations and Internal Markets providing consistent feedback to overall organization
• Improve and upgrade current suppliers to drive better service and products, Introduce new quality tools/technologies as needed to support the business and manufacturing
• Review opportunities to reduce costs via waste elimination, improve yield rate, etc.
Skills/Requirements
Preferred Experience & Technical Proficiencies:
• University degree in Textile/Clothing/Engineering or equivalent is preferred
• Minimum 10 years solid working experience in garment quality assurance auditing and quality management
• Broad experience in managing the multiple sourcing locations
• Experience in woven, knit & sweater for high fashion brands
• Knowledge of US safety standard for garments
• Strong knowledge of garment construction and good technical background
• Familiar with garment inspection workflow and production processes of garment manufacturers
• Good analytical skill and able to deal with problem analysis, resolution and follow up preventive action with manufacturers
• Will require travel 2-3 times a month to our CT location
