About the Role
Stitch Fix is looking for an experiencedProduct Development Assistant who is excited about creating and delivering unique quality apparel to our clients. You will support the Product Development team with all category needs, including production, T&A calendars, development and costing.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
• Assist with the product development and production for our Women's in-house apparel brands
• Work with the Women's Product Development team to understand the seasonal goals and vision for the assortment
• Provide ongoing guidance to vendors to enable preparedness for upcoming developments
• Work with vendors' design teams to create products and ensure samples are ready for market week meetings
• Collect and monitor the development and production schedules, ensuring individual and team calendar deadlines are met
• Support the initial costing negotiation of garments up until the commitment stage; including the preparation of an estimated cost during line planning
• Assist with the preparation of seasonal milestone meetings with cross-functional teams
• Perform handoff meetings and communicate all details/fit intent from line adoption meetings with the Technical Design team
• Manage all product category information and updates through various databases
• Perform prototype review, including approval of fabrics, yarns, lab dips and strike offs
• Leverage data and merchant insights to continue improving the creation of products
• Support in weekly meetings with Buying/Planning teams and assist in communicating the required actions with the vendor
We’re excited about you because…
• You have a BA/BS in a related field and 3-5 years experience in apparel product development
• You had previous production experience, including experience with T&A calendars and costing
• You are passionate about creating product
• You have strong knowledge of fabric/trims and garment construction
• You are extremely detail-oriented and excited to apply this to product
• You are an excellent multi tasker and are flexible to a fast paced work environment
• You are a creative problem solver
• You are a collaborative team player with the ability to lead others through change while achieving and maintaining results
• You are an effective communicator both verbally and written
• You have the ability to influence peers and business partners to achieve business results
• You are independent and can work with little direction
• You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
