The Head of Supply Chain enables the Company’s growth and will oversee and manage Inbound Logistics, Trade Compliance, Social Compliance, Product Compliance, 3PL DC Operations, and Outbound Transportation. Provides strong and strategic leadership to the Operations team supporting Distribution Centers while optimizing the supply chain overall as one integrated division.
Responsibilities
Duties:
• Enable growth & diversification strategies of the company and deliver best-in-class service to customers and vendors by advancing and operating a highly dynamic, dependable and efficient supply chain.
• Provide strong and strategic thought leadership to the Company focused on best practices in Total Supply Chain Management including Global Transportation and 3PL Distribution Operations to support retail, wholesale and ecommerce customers throughout the US, Canada, and other international markets.
• Lead Logistics and Distribution Operations teams and support them with best-in-class coaching, mentoring, talent management, and training.
• Responsible for negotiating all freight and 3PL contracts for all modes of transportation and DC’s.
• Develop and maintain highly productive and collaborative customer and vendor partnerships.
• Optimize entire Supply Chain Model; consistently achieve service level, quality, and productivity goals.
• Establish visibility, reporting and key performance metrics for all aspects of global transportation and distribution to ensure increase efficiencies and cost savings.
• Lead strategic planning process designed to chart future development with regard to priority initiatives, capacity planning, inventory modeling, capital investments, and team development requirements.
Qualifications
Skills/Qualifications:
• 10+ years of distribution, supply chain and logistics experience with multi-site and 3PL operations.
• Proven record of effective distribution and global transportation management with leading catalog or retail enterprises that operate in a high-volume environment.
• Experience implementing and working with warehouse management systems.
• Excellent project management, team building and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to drive innovation, execute plans and to think creatively.
• Agility to move between strategic and tactical operational issues.
• Proven and established record for process design and implementation.
• Pick and pack experience in a multi-building or multi-site setting preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Logistics, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.
Physical Capabilities:
• Effectively use office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers and faxes
• Sit for extended periods of time in one position
• Possess normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
