Description
As our FW Materials Intern, you'll join our Development Team and learn the end-to-end materials process and calendar. You'll be assisting in developing new materials for a variety of substrates from textiles to leather to synthetics. You will be given projects where you will have the opportunity to create a seasonal material palette for a category. You'll work with material vendors to gather critical technical data/info to enable appropriate use and application onto products. You'll be required to help the team manage systems with data integrity and accuracy. You'll act as a key member of the team, helping to research and develop new materials. In addition, you'll also be called upon to create tools that help drive material palette utilization.
• Bachelor's Degree in Material Science, Textiles, Engineering, or related interdisciplinary program/degree
• Strong knowledge in Adobe Illustrator preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge of textile formation, construction and manufacturing
• Strong organizational and project management skills with proven track record
• Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) skills and ability to convey POV with logical, fact-based support
• Must be self starter with high level of self awareness and curiosity
• Must be comfortable with change, ambiguity, multiple concurrent deadlines and activities
• Must have strong networking skills with ability to navigate through complex ecosystem
• Must be outgoing, confident, but willing to learn
