Summary
The merchandising coordinator’s purpose is to ensure our product presentation is constantly striving to improve and be either an industry leader in the area or part of the top 10% of the Internet Retailer top 300. The candidate should be able to quickly synthesize business objectives and customer needs, identify and articulate potential usability issues, and communicate recommendations and potential solutions in a clear and concise manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for product placement across all sports to ensure that the correct items are appearing on the correct pages in a strategic way based off best sellers, player popularity and profitability.
• Works with production team to ensure all Hot Market products are being imported to the website at an acceptable time frame. This includes SEO friendly titles, product placement, images, and pricing.
• Identifying and creating new product categories as never before seen type products are added to the website.
• Keeping player and team data bases up to date with all player transactions across all sports.
• Maximizing product presence for all best the selling players and products across all sports.
• Assist in creating new products and product lines to be offered on the website.
• Research across competitor websites to determine competitive pricing for all top tier products that we carry in house.
• Merging SKUS of like product so that we maximize conversion rate.
• Identify bugs and glitches within the website platform and being able to communicate those to the programming team.
• Analyze inventory trends including but not limited to: sku velocity, product scarcity, hot market, seasonality, etc. Based on these trends, create a purchasing calendar with pricing, quantity and suggested product mix, in addition to constant communication to the buying team about low inventory items.
Education and Experience:
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Previous experience working in merchandising preferred
• Knowledge in sports is a must.
• Ability to work independently and responsibly in a fast-paced environment
