The Senior Manager, HR Business Partner is responsible for partnering with Distribution Center leaders to create a positive and engaging workplace. The position serves as a hands-on generalist in human resource-related operations to include staffing, training, labor relations, employee relations and strategic areas including employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
Job Description:
• Create, drive, and execute strategic workforce planning ; encourage building strength through diversity and inclusion
• Works hands-on with business units helping with day-to-day HR and Labor needs and provides HR and Labor policy guidance and interpretation for escalated issues.
• Provides partnership to the business unit to identify strategies to increase employee engagement through effective communication, policies, and practices.
• Develop people strategies, create future leaders, and drive a high performance culture through talent management, performance management, and leadership development (e.g. coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
• Identifies training needs for business units and individual Supervisory coaching needs.
• Define business requirements/needs to HR and Operational leadership to design HR solutions and HR services for delivery and collaborate with them to develop and advocate the solution. Facilitate integrated, strategic, and client focused offerings and solutions.
• Manages and resolves complex employee and labor relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations as needed
• Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention (driving retention strategies focusing on crucible roles on key leaders/individuals with core competencies or skills critical to the organization.)
• Drive the adoption and consistent application of LS & Co. HR programs across businesses, regions, and teams.
• Lead task forces to build and implement solutions to systemic issues in this distribution centers and across the network
Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a distribution center environment or similar
• Track record of driving change to create a positive work environment where employees and leaders are supported, challenged and enabled to do their best work
• Lives the LS&Co. values of empathy, originality, integrity and courage while
• Trusted adviser and partner to leaders at all levels
• Identifies systemic solutions to fix issues that occur on an ongoing basis
• Labor relations experience in a union environment is preferred
• Strong relationship builder; solution oriented; team player
