External Job Description
The Associate Technical Designer is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the garment technical development process from design development to production. They will analyze and review merchandise for fit, construction, and overall quality.
Responsibilities include:
• With support of Sr. Tech Designer/Tech Designer, lead Fit sessions, analyze fit and accurately communicate corrections of assigned product area
• Manage and monitor all styles from order placement through pre-production to meet the time and action calendar
• Establish, monitor and maintain fit, construction, and workmanship standards for your product category and ensure consistency across all vendor and factory bases
• Provide technical expertise and support to cross functional teams on fit development and pre-production activities
• Create, update, and utilize blocks and patterns to ensure standards are being met
• Competitive shop the market researching size, fit, construction techniques and labeling.

• Accurately estimate time and difficulty of individual tasks and projects; makes conscious decisions about how time is spent. Sets goals for self in order to achieve results within deadlines.

Requirements
Education:
• Bachelor Degree or equivalent business experience required
Experience:
• 3+ years of technical or manufacturing experience
Skills:
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Possess strong written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
• Proficient in WebPDM or similar product data management system, clear understanding of Adobe Illustrator drawing tool and Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated understanding of pattern making/grading and how fabrics/trims affect fit of the garment
