Production Manager, Donna Karan New York Footwear
Overview
DKNY Footwear, a division of GIII Apparel Group, seeks a Production Manager to join it's team based in New York City.
Responsibilities
Production Order Placement
• Gather bookings information from system and prepare bookings reports for review with sales and senior management teams.
• Collect all notes from bookings review meetings and prepare recaps for sales teams and external sources. Follow up to ensure that dropped bookings are removed from the system.
• Issue purchase orders and pass to factories by the seasonal deadline established.
• After purchase orders are completed, check and balance inventory reports and oversold reports to ensure that all purchase orders were completed accurately.
• Communicate with overseas agents and vendors on all cuts to ensure their clear understanding of order totals and x-factory requirements.
• Check and balance all production reporting received from agents and vendors to ensure they have received all orders.
• Process all reorders obtaining best delivery quote possible.
Tracking
• Follow up with agents and vendors to receive confirmed delivery reports after cuts are completed.
• Review weekly production reports sent by agents and factories to ensure timeliness of production (material deliveries, component deliveries, etc).
• Maintain deliveries in the system when there are factory delays.
• Gather weekly preproduction reports from agents/vendors and initiate weekly pre-production meetings with production team to identify potential issues.
• Manage flow of production in most cost effective manner.
• Provide sales team with updates on late production deliveries.
• Communicate with Logistic departments and warehouses to ensure that goods are received in warehouse and shipped to customers in a timely manner.
Maintenance / Reporting
• Review weekly open invoices for payment, obtain the required approvals and submit to finance for payment.
• Create and submit seasonal preclass report to Logistics department by established deadline.
• Pass seasonal PR sample orders to agents and factories.
• Enter and monitor all finalized FOB costing in system.
• Update logistics on trim disclosures and reconciliation seasonally.
• Request and follow up on testing reports for REACH and Prop 65. Update production and Design teams on failures. Work with factories on corrective action plan.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years experience in production.
• Technical knowledge of footwear a must.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
