GENERAL FUNCTION The Finance Director coordinates with all levels of management to gather, research, analyze and summarize both financial and sales data. The Finance Director leads the financial & planning cycle for the eCommerce business including annual budget, forecasts and as required ad-hoc business updates. Gathers data from relevant sources within the optical industry, including market data, historical performance, scorecards and company financials to draw conclusions from the data and summarize this information into key messages.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Owns complete P&L for North America eCommerce sites including separate views of US and Canada (as necessary), providing insights and analysis.
• Analyzes the main KPIs to assess trends and recommend different actions.
• Acts as the liaison between NA and Corporate teams with regards to performance and financial numbers.
• Leads financial Forecasting and Planning for all NA eCommerce sites.
• Prepares and analyzes reports to make recommendations and develop future business opportunities.
• Supports business updates and preparation for top management, in both NA and Corporate Executives.
• Maintains financial models to project the impact of strategic initiatives in support of the business case, including ROI.
• Owns and evaluates the capital needs of the eCommerce sites, including forecast and actuals. Liaises with IT and Corporate eCommerce teams on investments.
• Supports the development of future state operating models and implementation plans to align with strategic initiatives.
• Analyzes internal and marketplace analytics to identify opportunities.
• Supports activities including documentation of process flows and preparation of project plans to grow North America eCommerce business.
• Prepares required reporting and details for both quarterly and annual audit.
• Actively participates in business and strategic planning representing assigned areas of responsibility.
• Develops continuous risk and opportunity view of business outside of routine planning practices.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
• 10+ years progressive financial experience
• Managerial experience
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the financial and cost analysis
• Technical knowledge and understanding of financial statements
• Strong PC skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Planning Tools such as Hyperion / SAP / JD Edwards / Business Objects or similar
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
• Solid tactical management skills, business acumen, and organizational savvy
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to build the business through improved analysis, trending and reporting
• High attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities
• Works under limited supervision, deadlines and pressure
