Digital Marketing Manager (Action Sports): Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
At Vans, Action Sports is the foundation of our brand and we have the responsibility to cultivate and promote its creative culture. 51 years later, our legacy continues and your role will be to engage our consumers digitally with authentic storytelling from our athletes, events and sports related content.
From driving and promoting live webcasts of our global sport platforms, leading innovative campaign strategies for sports marketing content to collaborating with regional marketing and cross-functionally with our creative and product marketing teams in order to drive global consistency and amplify our digital presence. Through your solid understanding of interactive platforms, you will assist the global marketing team in achieving our overall brand objectives. Your skills should include being a solid communicator, working well under deadlines and being self-motivated and pro-active with a ‘can do’ attitude. Most importantly, we are looking for you to be a key player in achieving our brand mission, embodying our values and living the Off the Wall lifestyle.
How You Will Make a Difference:
• Develop and execute digital global marketing strategies and content plans for the Vans action sports programs across Skate, Surf, Snow and BMX.
• Deliver Go-to-Market digital marketing plans aligning brand, product, athlete, original content and global action sports brand activations.
• In conjunction with the Brand Communications team, develop Vans’ Global digital communication strategy for Skate, Snow, Surf and BMX content .
• Lead Live webcast (sports) programming and develop innovative capabilities that drive deep consumer connectivity whilst delivering against endemic objectives and maximizing broad reach opportunities.
• Implement on-line Campaign (non-paid) and content strategies in close partnership with Action Sports Brand Managers, Brand Communications, Product and Regional marketing teams.
• Develop deep partnerships with Regional teams on their digital platforms, go to market needs whilst understanding and delivering to regional nuances.
• Manage interactive content work flow process to ensure proper and timely placement of assets and content.
• Create a planning culture in which we account for our communication platforms in advance of creative development.
• Manage communications of interactive marketing to key constituents including Sports marketing, Creative and Social and Regional partners.
• Work as part of an interactive marketing team and develop skill sets to become best in class interactive team.
• Increase our capabilities around digital technologies and evolve our digital marketing and mobile communications.
• Partner with global marketing team, sports marketing and regional teams to create frameworks to drive global consistency around digital analytics.
• Partner with Action Sports social media handles delivering globally and regionally relevant storytelling.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Digital Marketing or related field and a minimum of 3 years general management experience in the Interactive field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Experience working in the Action Sports industry is a plus
• Master’s Degree Preferred
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• Travel by air and overnight, as required 30% amount of time.
• Lifting and/or bending 50lbs amount of weight.
