Graphic/Apparel Designer – Special Make Up:Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
As the Graphic/Apparel Designer for Special Make Up, you will embrace your creative expression to create on-trend graphics and apparel for a global and iconic brand. In this role, you will be instrumental in creating iconic graphics and apparel that represents youth culture and aligns with our vision and values. You will be a key family member who is leading and creating innovative graphics that exceeds our consumers’ expectations.
How You Will Make a Difference:
You will use your graphic skills to create designs that are original, iconic, unique, innovative and upholds the Vans culture. You will partner with your Manager, SMU Merchandiser and Developer to incorporate feedback from your Sales partners to ensure consistency and marketability of your design that turn into high trend product. Adhere to the Van’s Design process and direction for the SMU and OMU Apparel and Accessory Designs. Partner with SMU Design Team on project to insure consistent pattern and print message by category to create successful brand right product. You will be an important member of the SMU Design team by creating accurate and thorough design techpacks for development to ensure proper execution.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• 5+ years graphic, design experience
• Associate/Bachelor Degree in related field or equal work experience.
• Strong graphic – typography, repeat patterns, graphic layouts and techniques.
• Preferred experience in Men's and Woman's graphic printables in Apparel and Accessories.
Skills
• Proficient in computer design programs, (e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Knowledge of design process, print techniques and techpacks.
• Ability to work within a team dynamic project based, a very fast pace graphic design workload, multi-task and organization qualities is a must!
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with other design departments
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• Up to 10% travel
• Bend, lift and move product up to 25 pounds
