Description
As the Director - Global Footwear Finance you will be a finance leader on the Global Revenue & Gross Margin business planning team, responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth for Nike Inc. You will lead a team of high-performing Margin Planners to deliver growth and profitability in line with the Nike Inc., Global Footwear, and Global Category strategic priorities.
Among the most important accountabilities are:
• Lead the 3 year strategic and Seasonal margin planning processes for NIKE’s Footwear business
• Lead the margin planning process throughout the Footwear product creation lifecycle driving alignment of our Financial and Strategic Goals
• Enable forecasting and performance management of seasonal performance, proactively keeping management informed of results
• Develop insights to highlight and influence priorities of the Global Footwear Product Engine
• Manage projects to evaluate critical growth opportunities and develop recommendations and plans to catalyze action
While executing the fundamentals will be critical, your ability to work effectively cross-functional stakeholders will be even more important. Like any senior finance professional, you’ll manage a wide scope of internal partnership with finance teams and more importantly with cross-functional teams such as Design & Development, Merchandising, Pricing, Sourcing and Manufacturing, Operations and Strategy.
To be successful, you’ll have to be an effective leader of people and an eager change agent. You’ll need a strategic mindset, a bias toward action and a commitment to execution. You’ll need a strong analytical skill set, an ability to “connect the dots” from various sources, and the capacity to communicate complex concepts and ideas in a simple way. You should be very comfortable with ambiguous situations and interacting with executive leadership and you should be very excited about the opportunity to make a significant impact at NIKE.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline
• 7+ years' experience in financial reporting, financial planning, strategic planning and annual budgeting
◦ 2 years' additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
◦ Advanced level degree or accounting certification may be considered in lieu of 1 year experience
• 2+ years of demonstrated people management experience
• Project management, problem structuring, and strategic problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
• Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
• Strong ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers
• Excellent understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as innovation, inspiration, employee development, coaching and engagement
• Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to pass a 7 year background check
Preferred:
• MBA (with a concentration on Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field), CMA or CPA is preferred
• Experience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is preferred
• Strong knowledge of strategic planning, budgeting, investment analysis and economic profit analysis and knowledge of GAAP is strongly preferred
