Director of Global Marketing: Levi’s Footwear, Accessories and Licensing
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Global Marketing serves as business development and marketing lead for the Global Levi’s Footwear, Accessories & Licensed businesses (Kids, Socks/Underwear, Eyewear). Primary objective being to craft long & short-term strategic marketing plans that drive profitability, revenue growth and brand equity. With ability to implement and integrate plans and manage successful execution of creative for implementation in Region. Serves as an International Leadership Team member, representing all things marketing.
• Partner with Merchandising and Operations to identify and drive new business development strategies
• Drive profitable growth on an existing business of $700MM in sales ($1B in Retail sales all channels)
• Navigate a complex business model (DTC, Wholesale, Licensed and owned) to manage all LFA/Licensee marketing initiatives from strategy and production, to execution at an account level
• Build seasonal stories and strategies with the Merchandising and Commercial Operations teams
Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as Marketing Lead on the International Leadership Team
• Attends all ILT meetings and bring a point of view from Consumer Marketing
• Works directly with ILT leaders to develop key seasonal stories and needs to sell in and sell out
• Drive improved efficiency and communication across all functions
2. Lead Global Marketing for Footwear, Accessories and Licensed Businesses
• Build Annual Financial Plan with Finance Directors
• Develop A&P budget
• Accurately track and report A&P planning throughout the year
• Collaborate with Merchandising and Commercial teams to identify key seasonal stories
• Manage development of all assets – photo, video, copy, packaging, in-store, sell-in materials
3. Lead Regional execution
• Work with regional marketing teams to integrate media, PR, and key account marketing into regional marketing plans
• Partner with Commercial Directors to develop Key Account marketing strategies, both physical and digital, to drive sell-out
• Manage execution of Key Account marketing initiatives, and track/report results
• Work with regional e-commerce teams to build best in class site experiences for all LFA products
4. Talent Development
• Manage and Develop – 2 Marketing direct reports and 1 Art Director
• Ensure a high level of team engagement for employees at the home office and overseas
• Utilize and lead efforts with “FaveRave” survey software to continue to engage employees with the LFA business
• Organize efforts for cross functional partners to get together, share work with each other, and encourage solutions amongst the team
Skills & Requirements:
• Travel Required (%): 30%
• Education: Bachelor degree required; MBA preferable
• Strategic Planning & Systems Thinker – Strong strategic thinking skills and experience building business solutions in an extremely complex business environment across different business models (licensed, supplier, distributor, direct sales); Ability to translate strategy into actionable steps and develop solutions; Exemplifies excellent decision making, judgment, and common sense.
• Program Development & Project Management – Successful track record contributing in complex, multi-functional projects; Division or enterprise-wide participation in program development and program management required; Ability to design, develop and deliver marketing plans that ladder up to team goals, and present to senior leadership.
• Organization Agility – Understands how to effectively navigate a matrix organization; Comfort working in a highly complex environment; Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive to solutions quickly
• Interpersonal Skills – Able to build strong, effective relationships with people at all levels, particularly at leadership level; Excellent interpersonal skills/relationship builder and people manager; Ability to consult effectively with senior management; Success in building stakeholder support, alignment and active engagement – Must be seen as a strong business partner and leader.
• Relevant Industry Experience: Strong strategic marketing experience. Preferably in the world of apparel, footwear, accessories.
• Deliver Results – Solid, proven track record of delivering results; Ability to design strategic marketing and organizational initiatives that drive business performance. A demonstrated track record of success in this area is essential.
