Our Global Business Technology (GBT) team develops and supports cutting edge e-commerce platforms, order processing systems, and distribution systems, while protecting the company and our customers from information security risk.
The primary responsibility of the Technology Strategy Manageris to provide problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical support to GBT’s Strategy & Planning team. A successful candidate will create value for VF through accurate research and quantitative analysis, project leadership, clear communication of research findings, and excellent presentation skills on high visibility, high impact analyses.
Actual assignments will vary, but may include:
• Long-term technology portfolio analysis, including building technology investment prioritization and optimization models
• Annual strategic planning support, including project and operational cost modeling
• Operating model and process improvement opportunity analysis
• Technology strategy development, including opportunity diagnosis, alternatives analysis, and roadmap development
• Interviewing key internal business customers to uncover opportunities for improved customer service and responsiveness
• Analysis of candidate applications for potential migration to the cloud
• Application portfolio risk assessment
• Capability maturity assessment
• Key Performance Indicator (KPI) development and tracking
• Analysis of the impact of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures on our technology environment & cost structure
• Research on innovative technology solutions that have relevance to VF’s retail business as well as our enterprise systems
• Preparation and delivery of presentation materials for senior executive-level audiences that are impactful, concise, and defect-free
The successful candidate will:
• Rapidly gain acceptance within the company’s leadership as a strong professional who can provide clear thought leadership.
• Establish strong, long-lasting, consultative relationships with executives, and proactively look for ways to extend the relationship
• Follow through with all tasks and assignments in a timely manner
• Be self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis and develop financial models
• Demonstrate fluency in data and visualization tools like Tableau to generate compelling insights
• Hold superior interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and problem finding skills
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills, including storytelling through PowerPoint
• Have an MBA from top tier school (preferred)
• Hold 2-4 years of post-MBA experience at a management consulting firm and/or experience in strategy in a consumer-driven industry (e.g., CPG, retail)
• Have legal authorization to work in the US
• Be able to travel globally up to 25%
