Manage product development to design intent from inception to production. Create, execute, and communicate long term departmental sourcing strategy. Ensure department aligns with and supports corporate direction, financial goals, and initiatives. Seek new vendor opportunities. Acts as leader and facilitator with cross functional team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Development
• Partner with Design to drive trends/concepts to executable samples
• Work with Design to select fabrics and trims to meet Design aesthetics, price points, and quality needs
• Build and manage compliance to T&A calendar in conjunction with major milestones
• Develop and ensure adherence to strategy regarding development ratios while meeting roadmap needs
• Review and evaluate sample allocation to confirm appropriate factories and mills for sampling and production
• Actively participate in key milestone meetings with Design, Production, and Merchants
• Build on and validate alternative solutions presented by Managers so garments meet cost requirements from initial thru final costing
Production
• Create, execute, and communicate long term departmental sourcing strategy. Ensure department activities align and support corporate direction, financial goals and initiatives
• Monitor factory loading in partnership with agents/vendors, validate across departments to total roll to minimize AEO exposure. Approves final seasonal allocation
• Direct team to execute seasonal roadmaps, IMU goals, and department strategies. Ensure departments are achieving seasonal IMU goals. Analyze big picture opportunities to aid in final costs negotiations. Hands on negotiations as needed
• Seek new vendor opportunities
• Builds and fosters internal and external cross functional relationships
• Directing team on effective utilization of available resources, tools and process. Monitors and validates that processes are efficient and working overtime and proposes adjustments as needed
• Hire, direct, develop and train team to build bench strength for succession planning
• Acts as a leader and facilitator in resolution of challenges and issues
• Key contributor in company projects
• High level trouble shooting inclusive of but not limited to: production, QA, charge backs, liabilities, personnel and cross functional relationships
• Travel to seek new resources and to monitor problematic styles in production and to evaluate factories for compliance and quality
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA or BS required; advanced degree preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational planning, strategic thinking, and communication skills
• Highly process oriented with excellent skills in managing / identifying process improvement
• Demonstrated experiencing managing and developing teams of people
• Superior relationship building, selling, influencing, and negotiation skills
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders within a corporate environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, consistently exercising good judgment
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with challenging deadlines
• Strong aptitude with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• 10+ years of Production and Sourcing experience required
• 7+ years of management experience
