Foot Locker offers paid internships at our offices in New York, Camp Hill, PA, Bradenton, FL, Wausau, WI and Milwaukee, WI. As an intern you will learn about the retail and ecommerce industry, participate in a collaborative business project, volunteer opportunities, and corporate training. As a accounting intern, you will:
• Gain insight into the daily operations of a Fortune 500 company, including accounting operations as well as strategic initiatives
• Participate in real world working experience, a variety of training exercises, and team building opportunities
• Influence the operational excellence of the Financial Service Center by suggesting process improvements and work-flow changes
• Provide exceptional financial support, service and analysis to all areas of our global business
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform analytical reviews and variance analysis for balance sheets and income statements
• Prepare and present accurate, well supported financial analysis and reports
• Prepare detailed account reconciliations and post accurate journal entries into the financial systems
• Ensure results are fairly stated in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
• Adhere to an enhance internal financial controls
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To qualify for an internship with Foot Locker, Inc., individuals must:
• Be a junior or senior in college, or a spring 2018 graduate in accounting/finance
• Arrange the internship with the educational institution on a for-credit basis, if necessary
• Schedule according to the following business hours: Summer internship hours are Monday - Friday (40 hours/week). Internships begin on June 5, 2018 - August 18, 2018. Any exceptions will dealt with on a case by case basis.
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail oriented
• Proficient in MicroSoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
• Demonstrated experience working independently
• Experience with and/or knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus
