Organizational Structure:
The Assistant Designer, Women’s Sweaters reports directly to the Sr. Designer, Women’s Sweaters.
Responsibilities
• Prepare for design fittings by specing all proto samples
• Generate tech packs and update them with fit comments and BOM updates
• Generate linesheets and keep updated as qualitied/sketches change
• Organize seasonal swatch library
• Send out and track all knitdown requests
• Create seasonal swatch cards for sketch boards
• Develop original swatches in-house via hand or machine knitting
• Perform additional duties and assignment as requested
Qualifications
• Must have a two-year AAS or College degree in Design
• Must have minimum six months to one year of experience in Design internship positions
• Must have excellent working knowledge of excel, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
• Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner
• Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter
• Must be able to take direction. This position requires incumbent to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
• Able to hand knit as well as use a domestic knitting machine. Knowledge of industrial knitting machine programing is a plus
• Must be creative and have interest in textiles/knitwear
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
