Overview
The Design Coordinator will work in partnership with the Store Environment Design, Corporate Merchandising and Display Teams to develop conceptual renderings, floor plans and create archival system for all in-store, home office and brand enhancement projects and set-ups.
Responsibilities
• Seasonal Plans – partner with concept and display teams to produce window and interior wall elevations and floor plans to be used as guides during seasonal prototypes and included in seasonal directives sent to all stores.
• Seasonal Display Inspiration – actively participate in all concept and inspiration meetings supplying information in your field of expertise and act as organizer of final visual resources as they relate to seasonal concepts.
• New Store Opening Plans- partner with the New Store Opening Corporate Merchandiser to generate floor plans, wall elevations and perspective renderings for all new stores. Complete presentation quality planning packs for all projects.
• Materials and Resources – create and maintain library of materials and resources to support Corporate Display teams and New Store Openings.
• Special Projects – partner to produce plans for in-store and Home Office off cycle set-ups with particular focus on new initiatives being implemented to enhance the Urban Outfitters experience including global expansion projects such as concessions and franchises.
• Interdepartmental Partnerships- act as key resource for information sharing as it pertains to planning and design with Creative, Marketing, Operations and Store Design teams.
• File Administration – responsible for organizing and archiving all new store and seasonal inspiration, plans and project layouts. Key gatekeeper for all store plans and visual assets for New Stores and Seasonal Sets.
Qualifications
• Minimum two years’ experience working in the design field.
• Computer Skills – Working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and Auto Cad, Sketch-up required. MS office (Excel) a plus. Ability to produce hand drawn renderings required.
Education
BFA in Interior Design, Architecture, Graphic Design or Industrial Design required
