Basic Function:
• This position will have Global responsibility for Revlon’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) processes. This includes the administration of EHS Policies, EHS Assurance, EHS Risk Management and EHS programs. The Senior Director, Global EHS will also be responsible for the development of strategies to align all locations to include 10 Distribution Centers and 6 Manufacturing sites. Position will coordinate efforts and provide direction for the implementation of key initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance across all locations.
• Position will be in charge of leading the strategy for company-wide leadership and management of the EHS programs and processes. Senior Director will create policies, procedures and operational guidance that will enable a culture of workforce behaviors directed towards safety, industrial wellness and health, incident and accident prevention, regulatory compliance, environmental management and performance outcomes that engage the connection of the workforce to the Company and its culture.
• The Senior Director, Global Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will provide expertise and leadership that will engage the Operational leaders in driving the culture of safety throughout the organization. A culture that keeps our EE’s safe, protects the loss exposure of the company, and is focused on compliance with applicable government regulations and internal standards and values.
• Lead and continuously improve the Global EHS initiatives while incorporating EHS best practices from across the company and industry.
Main Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance at all locations along with senior management to commit to continually improve safety methods, further defining safety methods, processes and organizational structure needed to meet safety goals.
• Lead the organizations global EHS efforts to drive best-in-class strategies related to compliance, environmental management, prevention and culture by partnering with senior executives and operations management across all regions.
• Lead efforts to implement a global risk assessment process and develop risk profiles for all global manufacturing and distribution sites. Prioritize risk mitigation activities with a focus on eliminating critical risk and lowering overall risk across the organization.
• In partnership with Global Corporate Responsibility, develop EHS metrics and drive the reporting of these metrics to ensure standardized tracking/reporting across all locations. Monitor EHS performance and benchmark against industry standards.
• Work with global leadership team to develop and continuously improve leading EHS KPI metrics to ensure proper focus and program direction is attained.
• Work directly with global site EHS leaders to improve knowledge, understanding and execution of global standards and environmental, safety and health best practices.
• Conduct site assessments to identify risks and gaps with the global standards.
• Strive to develop a culture where EHS is led by senior management, implemented by each level of leadership with each level accountable to the one above and responsible for the one below.
• Provide reports, trends, analysis, subject matter expertise and recommendations for critical safety decisions and solutions in order to address any deficiencies, gaps, or opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with the Global Corporate Social Responsibility function to assess, plan and lead environmental and sustainability programs.
• Implement environmental management systems at the facility level across all sites.
• Dotted line functional coach to each site EH&S leader.
Requirements:
• BS degree in health sciences, safety engineering, environmental engineering or related field.
• EHS-related credentials, OSHA certifications and/or membership in EHS professional associations are desired.
• Must have sound knowledge of global environmental, health and safety regulatory and statutory requirements. This knowledge would include current rules/regulations as well as pending legislation.
• Must be capable of multi-level communication from shop floor personnel to executive management.
• Must be results oriented.
• Ability to act as change agent through interactions with others.
• Operational or business management experience, and experience with lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
• Experience with acquisitions and risk and liability management preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish desired.
