• Conduct functional and browser compatibility tests on site enhancement and maintenance work completed by in-house and offsite development teams.
• Review specific web pages or functionality as directed.
• Manage and own the quality of software and systems that are both internally developed and deployed in conjunction with our partners
• Work closely with software developers and vendors to understand new release functionality
• Create thorough end-to-end test plans
• Continuously re-evaluate test plans to adjust for new information and project schedules.
• Develop and execute detailed functional test cases based on requirements and end-to-end infrastructure
• Perform testing and Document and rank defects in agile project management software so they can be addressed by development teams.
• Execution of system and integration testing.
• Query databases to obtain/verify test results
• Conduct regular regression testing to support frequent releases.
• Identify, write and regression test defects identified during the various phases of testing
• Work collaboratively with a QA Manager and team of developers to ensure the quality of the teams output.
• Monitor defect reporting tool for website issues reported by business units. Clarify issues with business units, reproduce and document identified defects for the development team to address.
• Assess projects to identify QA requirements and identify areas for improvement.
• Automate tests where appropriate (including researching and evaluating testing tools).
• Work with a QA Manager to draft acceptance scenarios and supporting tests for new projects.
• Maintain QA-related documentation
• Assist the overall Quality Assurance team in establishing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
• Perform Risk Assessments in cooperation with the overall QA team, actively communicating risks to management.
• Provide knowledge regarding QA concepts, methodology, best practices, tools and metrics.
Experience and Skills
◦ Proven ability to understand a complex multi-application architecture
◦ Experience developing test plans and test cases for both web-based applications and interfaces between applications
◦ Thorough understandings of software development, software release processes, test strategies, test plans, use cases and test scripts
◦ Demonstrated ability managing defects through resolution
◦ Proven skills in troubleshooting, problem solving, prioritizing, and decision making
◦ Strong analytical skills with demonstrated attention to detail
◦ Excellent verbal and written communication skills and time management skills
◦ Must be a self-starter who is highly-organized; detail-oriented, hands-on, Self-motivated, results-oriented and a team-player
◦ Problem solving & troubleshooting capabilities
◦ Process & procedure oriented
◦ Ability to work in a flexible working environment
◦ Additional Skills:
# Experience with SQL and relational database concepts
# Experience with test automation tools and/or software
# Experience XML
# Experience with ecommerce technologies
◦ A minimum of 4 years of experience QA testing in a software development/deployment environment
◦ Experience working with vendors for defect resolution
◦ Thorough understanding of Quality Assurance as it relates to web development.
◦ Thorough understanding of PMLC/SDLC concepts.
◦ Experience writing and/or testing agile user stories
◦ Experience with automated testing
◦ Experience with a SaaS platform or in a web environment is preferred
