Associate, Social Media Community Engagement, Estee Lauder
PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
Be a key member of the Global Consumer Engagement team, participating in social media content planning, content creation and community management. Serve as the voice of the brand to consumers across Estée Lauder globally, servicing consumer relationships online and acting as a key conduit to driving our digital high touch service. Support team in brainstorming and executing new, exciting ways to engage with our social communities across platforms. Work closely with the Social Media Manager and other cross functional team members from PR, Editorial, Online, Marketing, Creative, Regions.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Community Management
• Monitor all social platforms and engage with consumers and influencers - in the brand voice – on a daily basis, including activity on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest.
• Partner closely with Online Customer Service team to handle sensitive customer care inquiries on social
• Monitor social media platforms for any issues or crises and inform Social Media Manager + Escalation Team.
• Provide ongoing consumer feedback (complaints, reviews on new formulas, etc.) to Social Media Manager to include in reports to brand management.
• Responsible for keeping a pulse on what’s trending on emerging social platforms, communicating and sharing those trends with internal teams, and finding creative opportunities to interpret them in the Estée Lauder brand voice
Social Strategy & Execution
• Work closely with manager on creating, distributing and gaining approvals on the monthly social media calendar to global team, sr. leadership & regional team members.
• Liaise with cross-functional departments such as Editorial, PR, online, Creative, Marketing, Legal on content and cadence of ongoing and key product launch iniatives on social.
• Write social copy for various posts across all channels, working closely with crossfunctional partners in copywriting and communications departments.
• Work closely with Social Media Manager to maximize activation and maintenance of new global platforms
• Assist manager with owned social analytics and competitive research, etc. as needed.
Content Creation & Content Sourcing
• Work with Manager to strategize, organize and attend social media photo shoots, participating in the asset creation process.
• Liaise with Creative to ensure all social media photos are retouched and cropped appropriately for all platforms.
• Identify on-brand user-generated content (UGC), particularly on Instagram, and from top influencers, and secure approvals to repost using Olapic.
Global/Regional Partnership
• Assist team distribute social content to regional teams for use across the globe.
• Manage & organize social media assets in “library”, indicating usage history and relevant rights issues.
• Train any new team members in markets on use of the Community Management System.
• Manage requests for new platform launches in markets and help markets set up new platform, aligning with global customer care, online and legal teams.
• Supply senior management with social media content for brand and corporate presentations as needed.
Core Competencies:
Deep knowledge & understanding of social media across all key global platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Snapchat)
Excellent writing & verbal communication skills
Pop culture savvy.
Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS – Position Requirements
• 4 year College Degree or equivalent
• 2-3 years experience in social media-oriented work environment, involvement in community management on behalf of a brand(s)
• Experience with social community management tool & content management tools (i.e., Hootsuite, Sprinklr, Percolate, etc.).
• True passion for social media, active daily life in social media
• Beauty/fashion/entertainment experience a must.
• Demonstrated excellent written, verbal communication & quantitative skills.
• Must have a good balance of creative and quantitative skills.
• Highly organized, attention to detail is critical
• Candidate must be a positive, can-do team player who likes to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Must be able to multi-task, set priorities and work well under pressure; work independently and be flexible to handle changing priorities.
• Proficiency utilizing all Microsoft applications including: Word, Advanced Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience in KeyNote a plus.
• Availability for weekend & after hour community management coverage for live events & crisis management scenarios (as needed)
