Director of Global Privacy - PVH Corp.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Global Privacy (Legal Counsel, Global Privacy) will be responsible for managing and implementing PVH’s global data privacy initiatives, which include providing guidance on projects and products with data privacy implications, advising and supporting third party due diligence, organizing and supplying materials for associate training and awareness, and identifying best practices and data privacy principles for the Company. This position will also serve as the designated Data Privacy Officer in applicable jurisdictions where such a designation is required or prudent, and will support regional and country-specific data privacy projects, with an initial focus on GDPR compliance. The position will be based in New York City and will include approximately 25% travel.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Working with the global legal team to develop and ensure consistent application of data privacy policies and practices
• Providing guidance for PVH projects that involve customer, consumer and associate information, including advising on cutting edge retail and marketing initiatives
• Support the development of, and maintain as required, privacy compliance program documentation for PVH Corp.
• Assisting the Information Security Group and Legal to implement third party due diligence processes and screening of vendors that pose data privacy risks
• Develop and provide online and in-person data privacy trainings;
• Manage the company’s Data Privacy Champion program globally, including providing training and guidance; working with the GDPR Coordinator in Amsterdam to help develop appropriate compliance program documentation as required by law; and working with the GDPR Coordinator and Data Protection Champions to keep track of PVH’s data privacy posture as well as relevant regulatory developments around the world;
• Drafting and reviewing privacy and security provisions for contracts and other commercial agreements;
• Working with Legal and the Information Security Group, supporting as needed PVH’s information security incident response process; and
• Assisting Internal Audit with internal and external privacy-related audits.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills:
The associate will need to:
• Work closely with several different business partners around the world;
• Handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously;
• Operate independently;
• Find creative and workable solutions to new or emerging privacy issues; and
• Adapt to the needs of the business and handle ad hoc and urgent projects.
EXPERIENCE:
• 3-6 years compliance experience at a law firm, corporation, consulting or accounting firm, with a focus on privacy.
• IAPP Certification, bar admission, experience with EU or APAC data privacy regulations and additional language capabilities are a plus.
