Overview
Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a business focused, technology savvy, Portfolio Analyst to oversee financial modeling of brand and technology initiatives across URBN’s Direct to Consumer team; a centralized group, tightly aligned with brands and IT, specializing in user experience, product management, testing & analysis, digital strategy, portfolio management and program management. The Digital Portfolio Analyst is responsible for forecasting the potential business value of all Senior Executive approved initiatives across the URBN organization. The Digital Portfolio Analyst will work for Senior Portfolio Manager on the DTC Portfolio Management team and collaborate with brands, IT, and product team.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate & Forecast– Work across Brands, Product, Program teams, and IT to understand and model financial value for all newly requested digital URBN initiatives. Gather required data for calculation of potential opportunity from intake documentation as well as through interviewing Stakeholders requesting approved initiatives.
• Define Potential Opportunity – Act as the assessor of potential opportunity value for an initiative. Derive top line sales that can be attributed to a successful implementation of initiative, among other KPIs (e.g. Conversion, Return Rate, Incremental Sales, etc.) that would be positively and/or negatively impacted by implementing the initiative.
• Document – Draft and finalize documentation on potential opportunity, building a template for financial documentation that can be leveraged for future digital initiatives. Be the owner of financial documentation associated with new approved intake that funnels through DTC Portfolio team.
• Communicate – Review financial value documentation with Portfolio team and Senior Management of DTC. Work across Brands, Product and Technology teams to understand the current status of new and pending Portfolio initiatives and be at the ready to analyze newly implemented initiatives value over time.
• Analyze & Report – Analyze implemented features that roll-up initiatives and track go-forward success in comparison to the originally defined potential opportunity. Build reports that can be leveraged across the DTC organization that show financial valuation by feature.
• Educate – Act as the single point of contact for financial evaluation within the DTC organization and educate the team on proper financial valuation practices. Explain and document how to analyze existing features financial value and how to define gaps in existing features.
Qualifications
• 3+ years’ experience financial modeling business and technology requests
• Experience documenting and communicating financial models for complex projects in the Ecommerce industry
• Foundational understanding of web and mobile technologies
• Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
• Experience conducting ROI, value / complexity, and/or Opportunity Scoring analysis as a means to derive product feature priority
• Ability to understand technical feedback and the impact on digital product roadmaps
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
