Director, Global Levi’s Brand Marketing
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Director, Levi's Global Brand Marketing. The Marketing Director will
develop and execute cross-channel Global marketing campaigns/programs that drive brand positioning, equity and awareness while increasing engagement and sales for the Levi’s® brand.
Job Responsibilities:
• Ensure that Levi’s seasonal marketing campaigns drive a globally-consistent and compelling Levi's experience
• Drive marketing excellence globally through establishment of best practices and innovation across all channels with a consumer-centric approach that drives Levi’s as a global brand
• Infuse digital strategy and ideas deeply across all marketing channels
• Develop traffic driving programs for Regional and Channel partners that have short and long-term value
• Provide marketing and creative informed by (1) cross-functional partner needs and (2) the needs of the brand and consumer to help meet the goals of the season/year
• Socialize marketing campaigns with the key internal teams and publish to all stakeholders for global deployment
• Be a creative marketing leader with the ability to innovate with how Levi’s communicates with consumers
• Deliver content and creative assets to regional and channel teams that include but are not limited, to: broadcast television, photography, videos, social, copy, guidelines, etc.
• Work with the regional/channel leads to ensure that their needs are understood and addressed back to them (need to collaborate and partner throughout the process)
• Solve for future-state marketing requirements based on cultural insights, technologies and consumer need
• Understand the role of content, not only within marketing channels, but within the consumer journey and plan and create towards solutions to reflect those requirements
• Help push our brand, products, stories and our engagement with consumers to new places
• Help define the global vs. local expectations of the work. Clearly articulating the plan to Regional teams
• Understand media and distribution of marketing content. Helping to develop a global to local plan with media team members
• Align with the Levi’s financial plan and develop strategies that not only meet creative expectations but make positive impact on how the work drives sales
• Monitor competitive landscape and stay on top of global trends and strive to educate and evangelize internally – ultimately helping to keep Levi’s ahead of the curve
• Manage a team of direct reports, inclusive of delivering goals, mid-years, year-end reviews etc.
Cross-Functional Responsibilities
• Collaborate with teams to drive the seasonal go-to-market plan. Includes working to have the regional needs briefed into the global team early enough in the planning process
• Work with necessary cross-functional team members to ensure all briefs are complete and well-rounded
• Involve key stakeholders at correct points in time in the creative review process
• Own external creative agency relationship
• Work with the Levi’s Creative team to define Brand guidelines around copy, visuals and photography
• Work closely with the Marketplace Insights and research teams to help drive POV’s and stay informed to ensure the work is grounded in consumer insight and industry trends
• Take the necessary steps to ensure Legal reviews + trademark registrations are covered
• Build a relationship and partner with the Merchandising and Design teams to help drive strategies and go-to market goals before it is final and comes to Brand Marketing for execution
• Work through the Procurement team as necessary
Finance
• Responsible for your portion of the A&P budget and optimizing the cost-to-benefit ratio
• Help facilitate the process between the internal finance and agency teams
• On a monthly basis go through the checks and balances with direct reports and Finance team to make sure the responsibility of paying invoices is occurring correctly
• Negotiating contracts with agency partners and Levi’s talent
Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (Marketing, Communication, Business, etc.)
• 12+ years of advertising agency and/or retail industry experience
• Strong coach/leader of others
• Previous management of global and/or regional Marketing teams
• Agency management skills
• Experience executing initiatives goaled on hard metrics and/or sales
• Ability to analyze data and convert observations into actions
• Proven ability to drive flawless execution
• Excellent writing and speaking skills. Can present with impact and motivate teams
• Strong background in managing teams – both cross-functionally and direct reports
• Track record of bringing solutions to the table without being asked
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Having demonstrated a track record of managing digital/social marketing initiatives
• History of writing creative briefs
• Extremely strong communication and organizational skills
• Self-motivated with ability to work in ambiguity and still drive forward
• Experience successfully partnering with creative teams
• Ability to effectively partner and influence while driving results
• Creative sensibility supported by ability to implement complex projects
• Excellent prioritization and problem solving abilities
• Passion for the Levi’s brand
