Associate Design Director, Omni-Channel, Creative, MAC
POSITION SUMMARY:
• The primary focus of this position is to support the ED, Online and the VP of Creative Design in the creative development and implementation of eCommerce and Omni-Channel projects.
• The Associate Design Director is responsible for the look-and-feel of all Omni-Channel Projects with a strong emphasis on developing and refining concepts, digital strategy; UI and UX design.
• Additionally, they will be supporting cross-functional teams and initiatives by working closely with the Omni-Channel marketing team, Consumer Insights, GIS, Retail, eCommerce and external vendors.
• This person must be highly knowledgeable in understanding consumer behavior in the digital space (especially luxury brands), the nuances of online functionality, marketing, emerging technology and trends and incorporate into the creative process.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Maintain visual and conceptual consistency across multi-channel brand strategy for collections and brand initiatives and apply to all interactive platforms.
• Conceptualize and design assets for all M·A·C Cosmetics digital experience across platforms and devices as well as online and in stores, that adhere to M·A·C’s global branding standard.
• Manage junior designer or production designer to execute and support all Omni-Channel assets.
• Clear, concise and thorough communication of design goals and feedback to creative participants, ensuring integration of design requirements into all phases of production, including QA.
• Oversees the production process for all global Omni-Channel assets including micro-sites, apps, mobile sites, tablet content, custom in-store interactive experiences and emails.
• Develop or refine the design process to reflect technical requirements of delivery platform.
• Research and analyze industry trends and maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and its creative applications.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• BA or BFA preferred.
• 5-6 Years of direct Design experience.
• Deep understanding and extensive experience in UX/UI, digital technology and consumer behavior.
• Thorough working knowledge of Adobe Design Suite.
• Full understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript.
• A solid understanding of UX, UI and informational architecture practices.
• Experience in art directing photoshoots.
• Extensive experience digital design and development of new media and tablet/mobile apps.
• Deep knowledge of ecommerce/mobile consumer behavior globally.
• Deep understanding of global fashion/cultural/technological trends.
• Drawing/Illustration/Typography skills are highly desirable.
• Strong brand translation and superior organizational skills.
• Experience managing a project design team from concept to completion.
