Overview
The Manager, Creative Visual Merchandising will manage CVM of entire Mid-Atlantic/Central market store network (approximately 20 locations), collaborating with Market Vice President, the Senior Director, CVM and Global CVM organization to ensure alignment of Visual Merchandising initiatives and consistent standards.
Responsibilities
CVM Campaign Installations & Merchandising Initiatives
• Manage and install 6 CVM campaigns per year in market stores, including windows/vitrines/caseline/towers and pedestal vitrines.
• Function as the lead contact for all event related CVM needs within each market.
• Partner closely with Market Merchandise Manager in the successful implementation and in-store execution of regionally defined product strategy.
• Oversee complex holiday installations in stores within the market.
• Partner with Regional and Global CVM to align on directives and major initiatives.
• Manage network of CVM freelancers for all installations (6 per year).
Cross functional Business Partnership
• Demonstrate strong business acumen to help drive the business through Creative Visual Merchandising.
• Develop strong relationships with key business partners, such as MVP, Store Director, and Merchandising Manager.
• Analyze business and trends to make appropriate changes in presentation and assortment in partnership with Merchandising Manager, MVP, and Store Director.
• Communicate opportunities in your market to CVM Director and Merchandising Director with suggestions and any necessary action plans/next steps.
Training and Development
• Elevate CVM through communication and training to CVM partner network in support of all major installations and merchandising initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within the market.
• Oversee and assess standards and executional excellence within entire market.
• Partner with CVM team to create and execute Visual Merchandising and Standards training within your market
Operations
• Manage T&E to achieve budget but maximize coverage.
• Manage relationships with freelancers, floral and graphic installation vendors within the market-cluster stores to ensure results are on brand and competitively negotiated.
• Oversee T&E for Sr. CVM Specialist.
• Communicate budget status to CVM Operations in NYC on a monthly basis
Leadership
• Managerial oversight of CVM Specialist based in remote hub market.
• Motivate Specialist and partners through leading by example, empowering and holding self and others accountable.
• Coach and provide feedback in a productive manner
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Bachelors degree with 5 - 7 years experience in merchandising, visual display, styling, or related areas - preferably luxury retail.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen and an ability to lead the market stores
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Able to successfully navigate complex relationships.
• Knowledgable of local vendor sources for display supplies, hardware, props, furniture, flowers.
• Experience with basic construction hand tools and painting
• Computer skills required: email/Outlook, Microsoft Excel & Word
• Experience with managing the job responsibilities & performance of a staff.
• Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications
• Comfortable in and appreciative of a luxury retail setting.
• Theatre or color display lighting experience a plus.
