General Summary: The Transportation Coordinator II is responsible for providing support to our vendors and carrier network through the uses of two computer software programs. Communicating with the POM and Buying groups to make sure inbound purchase orders are routed within the ship window and carriers are scheduled through the TMS system.
Reports to:Transportation Area Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate activities between all vendors and carriers, monitors daily pickups of shipments of truckload, less than truckload, ocean containers, and air shipments.
• Notify buyers of issues with purchase orders of vendors shipping early, late or short ship of an order
• Update the TMS with bill of lading information
• Assist receiving department with billing and carrier request
• Daily tendering of shipments through the Kewill/BlueJay TMS from routing request sent in by e-mail in a timely manner
• Coordinate pickup activities between our 3PL operations on the East and West coasts
• Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and working in Excel
• Good problem solving skills
• Address issues from Vendor shipments that have arrived DC/FC
• All other duties assigned by manager
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 2 years minimum experience in a logistic or distribution center environment
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
