Manager Sports Marketing NBA Partnerships
Purpose
To coordinate and execute promotional programs within Basketball sports category with direction of the Senior Director Sports Marketing.
Key Accountabilities
• Primary adidas day-to day contact for fulfilment & servicing with NBA partners: League and Teams.
• Collaborate with NBA Teams, League and Senior Dir. Basketball Sports Marketing to drive new areas of opportunity.
• Lead & manage affiliated NBA retail activities and oversight, including limitations of marks and legal parameters.
• Leverage all NBA assets for greater Brand outcome & strategy adherence, manage associated partnership budgets.
• Work with product marketing, brand marketing, PR and retail marketing to fully manage assets.
• Lead regular communication with program partners to ensure all commitments are fulfilled and superior service has been provided.
• Manage administrative program operations: order and track promotional product, develop a filing/tracking system for program related correspondence.
• Direct communication flow between Sport License Division at key milestones.
• Manage regular communication with markets, Teams and key accounts, and develop strategic plans accordingly.
• Manage Sports Marketing programs related to NBA special events.
• Co-produce with the event(s) Project Manager on execution of grassroots and Basketball sport events, both owned and supported.
• Assist with the execution of athlete appearances, activations and retail promotions to drive maximum synergies.
• Provide NBA operational support to key markets as needed. Leverage local assets for Global Brand outcome.
• Heavy travel and overtime may be required during peak season(s).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and any proprietary retailer tracking / OS.
• Extensive knowledge of Basketball sport/category
• Ability to make sound business decisions & manage program budgets strategically
• Posses strong organizational, problem solving, and resolution skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively present company objectives to a diverse demographic
• Ability to communicate with people on different levels within and outside the organization
Qualifications
1. Four year college or university degree, emphasis in marketing or business preferred.
2. Three years relevant experience, basketball experience preferred.
3. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for a degree.
