Director of Wholesale Planning - Lucky Brand

Responsibilities:
• Develop, execute and communicate merchandise and account strategies and financial plans that support the merchandising and financial objectives of the wholesale division.
• Incorporate brand vision, market feedback, and financial analysis into sales plans. Develop and/or guide in creation of pre-season sales, gross margin, and inventory plans for each account for both Men’s and Women’s one or more brand divisions at the department/class level.
• Clearly articulate challenges, opportunities, and risks to achieving financial goals.
• Gain buy-in of cross-functional team on annual and quarterly goals.
• Own wholesale import order process by partnering with sales, customer service, production, and merchandising to create by style plans that tie directly to the financial bookings for each month and quarter.
• Ensure orders are tallied and partner with VP Sales and VP/GM Planning & Operations to assess risk and drive opportunities in import orders.
• Own evolution of order management process and logistics with VP/GM Planning and Operations.
• Ensure process supports Lucky Brand Jeans creative approach to business and the financial needs of the company.
• Develop and/or guide in the development of pre-season class plans by account for each season.
• Align initial orders directly to class positioning and monthly contribution.
• Lead team in development of replenishment assortments by partnering with merchandising, retailers and sales team.
• Forecast inventory needs by account, by month tied to bookings goals for each retailer.
• Ensure in-stock position on key styles and maintain w.o.s. in line with financial plans.
• Capitalize on denim opportunity by adding styles to replenishment.
• Oversee forecast and management of fabric for wholesale division.
• Collaborate with merchandising, production, sales and the retail division to minimize fabric liability and control cost of capital.
• Manage business weekly. Analyze total account to plan, LY and key metrics as well as actual sales at the department, class style level, style level.
• Forecast in-season performance on a weekly, monthly, quarterly basis. Provide action plans to ensure financial plans/forecasts are achieved. Manage weekly injection process and needs.
• Spear-head by door sales and inventory plans that tie to Lucky Brand Jeans financial booking plans and align with accounts sales plans.
• Ensure collaborative, integrated approach to plan creation and implementation.
• Partner with VP of Sales and VP/GM in management of RTV and EOS budget.
• Partner with finance as needed to provide visibility to returns and markdown needs.
• Develop and maintain effective partnerships with cross-functional team (merchandising, production, retail planning, sales team, accounts, customer service and finance) to drive business results.
• Expand partnerships with LCI IS, other LCI sales divisions and visual to ensure expected results are achieved.
• Develop and train cross functional team members in evaluation of business, replenishment and planning strategies, and overall retail systems.
• Train planners in management of business, risk and opportunity evaluation, and partnership with cross functional team to achieve financial goals.
• Partner closely with VP/GM in management of business. Learn and understand total Lucky Brand Jeans in order to develop partnerships to achieve goals. Participate in one or more company or corporate initiatives.
• Champion automation of process and approaches. Launch and implement selected systems for Lucky Brand Jeans – wholesale and total company.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload. Ability to problem-solve. Demonstrates ability to incorporate best practices and new ideas to mobilize team to solve problems.
• Strong communication skills including the ability to listen to cross-functional business partners recommendations and needs.
• Support a collaborative, creative and results-oriented environment for cross-functional team members and external business partners.
• Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point and ability to demonstrate skill set.
• Aptitude to learn new systems quickly. Ability to independently take on reporting, recapping and evaluating business through use of systems. Maximize usage of BARs, BPS, RAMs, RBI, and Richter to drive results.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree At least 4 years experience in merchandise planning within a specialty retail, department store or wholesale planning environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of direct reports
Preferred Qualifications:
• 5-8 years experience in merchandise planning within a specialty retail, department store or wholesale planning environment
